James "Jim" Howard Treece

"Jim" James Howard Treece was born April 30, 1960 in Mt. Prospect, Illinois to Bobby Gerald Treece and Katherine Hays Treece. Jim passed away unexpectedly on September 4, 2011 in Tulsa, OK.

He grew up in Mt. Prospect, Illinois. Jim earned his Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University in Ames, and has been employed as an Engineer since his graduation. Jim earned his Professional Engineering license and is licensed in five states. He began his engineering career working on nuclear power plants and later worked in other areas of the Electric Utilities industry for Sargent and Lundy Engineers, Texas Utilities, Gibbs and Hill, and Central and Southwest, in Chicago and Dallas. He was currently employed by American Electric Power/Public Service of Oklahoma. Jim was also a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Jim was a devoted and loving husband as well as a proud father of three sons who all currently attend college at Texas A&M and Kansas State Universities. He had a great sense of humor and really enjoyed life. He was actively involved in coaching the boys' various sports teams as they grew up, Cub Scouts, a member of the Whitey Ford Basketball board, Bixby High School Band Parents Association, and was the former mayor of St. Paul, TX. He was an avid sports fan and his favorite teams were the Chicago Bears, Bulls, and White Sox. Jim also loved gardening, woodworking, bicycling, and walking his dogs Sparky and Goldie.

Jim was preceded in death by his father Bob Treece. He is survived by his mother Katherine Treece (Little Rock, AR); his wife of nearly 23 years Polly Treece, his three sons Michael, Bobby, and Adam Treece (Bixby); his brothers Alan Treece & wife Ann (Minneapolis, MN) and Bill Treece (Arlington Heights, IL), and his sister Kathy Treece (Minneapolis, MN): sisters-in-law Sally Wagner and husband Mike (Raleigh, NC), and Nancy Pullen and husband Dave (Richmond, CA); and brother-in-law Harold Pullen (Oakland, CA). He is also survived by 18 nieces and nephews, 4 great nephews, many cousins, and friends and was loved and treasured by all.

Casket bearers are Joe Haffener, Chuck Partridge, Rue Galyean, John Hays, Dave Matthews, David Toalson, David Kidd, Robert Pennybaker, Chris Shields, Paul Harris & Don Schneider.
