Barbara Sue Van Arsdel

Barbara Sue Van Arsdel was born on September 19, 1938 in Jenks, Oklahoma to John Wesley & Lena Agnes (Godsey) Van Arsdel. She passed from this life on November 13, 2006 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 68 years, 1 month & 25 days.

Barbara grew up in the Jenks community, graduated from Jenks High School with the class of 1957 and had lived all of her life here except for 10 years when she lived in Pittsburg, Kansas. She worked in retail sales for several years with Stewart's in Utica Square and was retired from the South Lakes Golf Course in Jenks where she worked as the restaurant manager. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Jenks and was active in the Red Hat Society. She will be remembered for her loves of traveling, sewing, making crafts and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by 3 children; Jeffrey Cosby of Jenks, Dawn Medlin and husband Gary, of Beggs & Darla Tinker and husband Mike, of Jenks, 1 sister; Ruby Petty of Catoosa, 4 grandchildren; Nathan Cosby, Tyson Cosby, Chance Tinker & Holly Peevyhouse, 1 great-grandchild; Payton Peevyhouse and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and good friends. She was preceded in death by 1 son; Kevin Lyn Cosby on March 23, 1990, 1 brother; Kelly Van Arsdel and her sisters; Joyce Crain and 3 infant sisters; Jackie, Betty & Lounell.

Casket bearers were Nathan Cosby, Tyson Cosby, Chance Tinker & Clayton Peevyhouse. Music was provided by Tyson Cosby.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.
