Betty L. VanArsdel

Betty L. VanArsdel was born on March 27, 1930 in Bixby, Oklahoma to Jacob Henry & Etta Rose (Ryder) Nance. She passed from this life on March 6, 2006 at her home in Jenks, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years, 11 months & 7 days.

Betty was a member of the 1948 graduating class of Bixby High School and had been a resident of Jenks for all of her adult life. Her family warmly remembers her as a loving and devoted mother and homemaker that was always more concerned with the well-being and happiness of others than she was of her own. With grace, faith and dignity, she embraced her death following a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Betty is survived by 5 daughters; Anita VanArsdel and husband Russell Dowling, of Jenks, Lisa Clay and husband Sammy, of Coweta, Holly Kinkead and husband Joe, of Owasso, Suzy Procopio and husband Frank, of Syracuse, NY & Stephanie Brown of Tulsa, 2 sons; Kelly VanArsdel, Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA & Wayne Needham of Houston, TX, 1 sister; Ruth Cole of Tulsa, 1 brother; Eugene Nance of California, 7 grandchildren; Brandon & Ethan Clay, Jackie Lutz, Aidan & Spencer Procopio, Ian & Logan Brown, 1 great-granddaughter; Mackenzie Moreno, 2 step-grandchildren; Sadelina & Buchanan Dowling, and several nieces, nephews, other relatives & very special friends which include Beverly Smith & Bob Clymore. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; Kathleen Carole, 1 sister; Helen Reardon, 2 brothers; Leonard & Steve Nance, her parents and her husband and father to her children; Kelly VanArsdel.

Casket bearers were Brandon Clay, Ethan Clay, Logan Brown, David Cole, Steve Nance & Jake Nance. Honorary bearers were Ian Brown, Aidan Procopio & Spencer Procopio.
