Fay Washum, Jr.
Fay Washum, Jr. was born on January 26, 1933 in Memphis, Tennessee to Fay & Helen Louise (Beard) Washum. He passed from this life on April 6, 2007 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years, 2 months & 11 days.
Fay had lived in the Liberty community for close to 30 years. He was proud to have served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Korean War. He formerly owned and operated an auto parts store for several years and also worked for Bumper to Bumper auto parts. When he was not working, he loved driving dune buggies, watching Nascar races and working on cars.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Juanita (Jones) Washum whom he married on June 9, 1952 in Van Buren, Arkansas. Other survivors include 1 son; Craig Washum of Liberty Mounds, 3 sisters; Helen Mowery of Okay, OK, Catherine Romer and Sybil Richardsen, both of Las Vegas, Nevada, 2 brothers; Joseph E. Washum of Harrah, OK & William L. Washum of Warner, OK and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter; Pamela Jean Washum and a grandson; Brian Washum.
Casket bearers were Mike Roberts, Joseph Mowery, James Michael Mowery & Allen Roberts.
