Neva I. Wood

Neva I. Wood was born on June 11, 1924 in Booneville, Arkansas to Elmer & Mary Claudie (Smith) Jones. She passed from this life on May 7, 2006 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years, 10 months & 26 days.

Neva grew up in the Leonard and Bixby communities and had lived in Tulsa for virtually all of her adult life. She was proud to have worked at Douglas Aircraft during World War II where she helped to build the aircraft that was used during the war. She later began a career as a sales clerk for the Brown-Duncan Department Store. When she was not working, she loved taking care of her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jefferson Davis Wood on January 13, 1995 as well as by 1 sister; Nila Mae Moutray and a grandson; Jeffrey Nelson. She is survived by 1 son; Jim Wood of Tulsa, 4 daughters; Patricia Barber of Kingwood, TX, Colleen Oakes of Austin, TX, Pam Swenson of Tomball, TX & Janice Loria of Princeton, TX, 7 grandchildren; Teresa Adams, Brian Nelson, P.J. Nelson, Bradley Helton, Russell Swenson, Karen Fair & Jay Dee Wood, 6 great-grandchildren; Bailey Helton, August Helton, McClain Helton, Justin Adams, Casey Adams & Riley Fair, 2 nephews; Gary Moutray of Skiatook, OK & Claude Moutray of Vacaville, CA and several other relatives and friends.
