FRANK DARRELL WOOD
Frank Darrell Wood was born on March 13, 1925 in Glenpool, Oklahoma to Frank Wood and Nora Ann (Stacy) Wood. He passed from this life on January 4, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years, 9 months & 22 days.
Mr. Wood had lived in this area for most of his life. He was proud to have served his country as a member of the United States Army 21st Infantry stationed in Japan during World War II. He was a graduate of Glenpool High School and received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Tulsa. He taught in the Jenks school system for 30 years and retired in 1986 as the Middle School Principal. He was a longtime member of the Jenks First United Methodist Church. When he had time for himself, he enjoyed fishing and tinkering in his workshop. He was a devoted sports fan and always enjoyed watching football. He and his late wife loved traveling to the many State Parks in Oklahoma and he was especially devoted to his dogs and cat.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Lee Wood on March 6, 2001 as well as by 4 siblings; Evelyn Arning, Helen Vowell, J.B. Wood & Glen Wood.
He is survived by 1 sister; Mary Jean Martindale of Howe, OK and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Casket bearers are Jim McHaney, Darrell Wood, Terry Rabon & Pat Graham. Honorary bearers are Nick Vance, James Graham & Hugh Smothers.
