JEFFREY LYNN YOUNG
Jeffrey Lynn Young was born on October 15, 1955 in Fullerton, California to John Calvin Young and Jeannie (Newcomb) Young. He passed from this life on April 29, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 54 years, 6 months & 14 days.
Upon moving with his parents to New Milford, Connecticut, Jeffrey graduated from the University of Connecticut in Danbury with a degree in business. In the early 70's he took a job with Kimberly Clark Corp. in New Milford, a paper products manufacturer which employed him for 29 years. He married Debra Ann Fuchs, also of New Milford on March 23, 1991. When Kimberly Clark sent Jeffrey and his bride to Nancy, France, the couple began their life-long love of travel. In Nancy, Jeffrey was part of a start-up crew that established a mill for the company in France. As well as lending his expertise to start-ups, Jeffrey was a process specialist, an operator of the J-1 tissue machine. When the start-up of Kimberly Clark Jenks facility brought Jeffrey to Oklahoma, the couple made their home in Bixby. However, they were hardly content to stay home and traveled throughout Europe, the Americas and Caribbean islands such as Jamaica. They took cruises in Alaska and around Hawaii. They sledded from village to village on a mountain slide in Switzerland, backpacked from town to town in Italy and explored Germany, Spain and France by car, boat and train. Most recently, they toured Russia and Scandinavia. When his family had moved from California to Connecticut in the 70's, he gave up scuba diving in favor of ice hockey and sailing. In Oklahoma, he added golf and bicycling to his activities. His many interests, including a collection of Hopi art, ranged from quiet construction of intricate puzzles to zooming on a fast motorcycle.
Jeffrey is survived by his wife, Debra Ann Fuchs-Young of Bixby, his brother; Terry Young of Boulder, CO, his sister; Patricia Kohnen of Lake Oswego, OR, 1 nephew & 3 nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and by 1 brother; Dennis Young.
